An event not to miss
This October, a milestone event is set to roll through the South
Island, and tickets are now available. The Bill Richardson Truck
Rally in October is a three-day event beginning in Christchurch
and rolling into the infamous Bill Richardson Transport World
in Invercargill on Friday, 17 October 2025 (Bill’s birthday).
The celebration not only will mark 20 years since the passing
of HWR’s founder, and one of the most passionate and
respected figures in the transport industry in New Zealand - Bill
Richardson - but also marks the one-year anniversary of the
passing of transport legend Wayne (Ox) McEwan.
The 2025 truck rally honours Bill’s memory in a big way and
invites truck enthusiasts and industry members alike to
hit the road to celebrate the vehicles, stories, legacies and
the community that defines New Zealand’s transport and
its history. Whether behind the wheel or cheering from the
