Contracting

HW Richardson Group became involved in the contracting industry with the purchase of SouthRoads Ltd from the Southland District Council in 1996. This delivered a contracting presence over the entire Southland region, later growing to cover the Central Otago and Clutha regions. SouthRoads was primarily involved in local government roading maintenance and construction but this business has expanded rapidly, especially in the areas of bridging and site works.

Today, the Group’s contracting interests includes, Linton Contracting Ltd, SouthDrill Ltd, and BCL, covering a range of operations: road construction and maintenance, bridge building and site development works, bulk earthmoving and construction, water bore construction drilling and piling, environmental waste management, drainage system maintenance and construction. Clients include private and commercial interests and local government.
